Peaceful contrasts

This family of pastoralists brings their goat herd back home after a day of grazing around Agra, India. For centuries, pastoralists supported national economies, contributed to food and water security, and provided environmental services through their unique adaptation to the unevenly distributed spatial and temporal rangeland resources. Pastoralists are often overlooked when it comes to land conservation, but play a critical role in the rangelands, including carbon sequestration and protecting biodiversity and ecosystems.
